6,927 New Schools In School Reviews

Over the past two days I've imported 6,927 new private schools from all over the country onto our School Reviews section, a major addition to the 1,586 NCR schools already there, and a major item I can finally tick off my to - do list :)

To recap, School Reviews is a registry of private schools in the country. People (parents, faculty, alumni, etc.) can leave comments about these schools and / or rate them via a star system. The primary goal obviously, is to help people readers figure out if the schools are any good or at least, a good fit for their child - one of the primary types of questions around here and a good niche MomEx has found itself in.

Over the past year, we discovered people were often seriously passionate and opinionated either for or against some of these schools and some flaming ensued. For the record, a lot of these opinions were well written, albeit occasionally libelous though, so I'd had to implement membership to avoid anonymous comments. Since then everyone's been much more civilized.

Finally, School Reviews also functions as a Directory with addresses, contact persons and telnos. Even if the site does a good job at that, I'd be happy.

Now that that data is there, my next step is to figure out how to automate a process for people who look for 'good schools in xx location'. I've a few ideas I'm cooking up, but for the moment I'm waiting for Google's spiders to start indexing so the country can start rating and leaving comments.
