Sniffles and Babywearing Blues

First of all apologies for the delayed post. Two reasons. First, Neil Gaiman is coming to town. Long work-related story. Second, I've been barking like a dog the past week and have been nursing a cold. The worst part about it is that, Tala has caught a cold too. I feel so bad about it. Buti nalang she has the motor skills to wipe her own nose. I hate it that I was the viral host of this whole thing. But I guess there's really no point in wallowing in self-blame. I just need to make sure she gets her meds on schedule and pray that this whole thing goes away.

Sling update! Got my sling! Even if I had to go all the way to the Globe Center to pay G-cash, which I certainly hope I would never have to do ever again. I'm kind of in a babywearing hiatus at the moment given my current condition but just to tell you bout the first few attempts...well it was pretty awkward. Took a while for me to get comfortable with the fabric on my body. The looping of the fabric was also a bit difficult. Apparently you have to do it right to ensure that it's safe enough to carry the very fragile load. I like the pouch feature of this particular sling as it can easily hold my wallet, cellphone, hair tie and other essentials. I just hoped that the drawstring would close the built-in pouch more efficiently and that the string wouldn't be as long as it usually gets tangled into the aluminum rings.

Tala wasn't a fan of the sling at first. She was probably wondering why her mom was putting her inside a sack. She was super fussy alright! And when Tala gets fussy, I get stressed. So needless to say, the first few tries wasn't exactly a walk in the park.

I'm actually regretting having gotten it in black. It's so freaking hot right now that it would surely absorb more heat especially when outdoors. I should have gotten something in a lighter color. Oh well... who says I can only have one sling? mwahahahaha.

Let me leave you with this pic of me and Tala at our first attempt in babywearing (No thanks to the husband who took a bad angle of me with my double chin). Obviously, Tala wasn't as giddy as I was.
